The Department of Physics at Abdul Wali Khan University was started in 2009. The main objective of the department is to conduct teaching courses and research in the field of pure and applied physics. The Department considers its students as its assets, and has established a number of different programs to strengthen its students both academically and in the field of research.Presently, the department runs three academic programs, which includes BS-integrated (4-year), M.Sc (2-year), M.Phil (2-year) and PhD degree programmes. In addition to the core courses, there are elective courses of advanced and/or applied nature at various levels. The aim of the department is to contribute to the understanding and applications of the fascinating facets of nature, and to offer a solid and attractive curriculum to our inquiring youth.
